the environment and charities we support
The Aqua Agency promotes the use of environmentally friendly
and sustainable methods.
We like to do our bit for the planet and actively recycle and, where possible, reuse all paper products within the studio while in-house printing is kept to a minimum, all appropriate containers are recycled and we compost all organic kitchen waste.
We endeavour to be as energy efficient as possible by using natural light and energy efficient light bulbs. We use 100% GreenPower and are part of SustainableChoice, a sustainable procurement program for NSW local government. Please link through the logos below for more information.
But most importantly is the choice of printer we use. We choose only to work with certified ‘green’ printers and our preferred printer has won a number of awards for their achievements and became the world’s first carbon neutral printer.
Our printers credentials and processes:
- Computer to plate (CtP)
- Cleaner Production Processes
- Vegetable based inks (non toxic)
- Certified Environmental Management System ISO 14001
- Certified Quality System 9001: 2000
When possible we will use 100% recycled paper otherwise we only use paper from plantation forests which are managed, grown and produced under ISO 14001 Environmental Management System or FSC accredited.
Our preferred printers also have a Chain-of-Custody Certification which verifies that products from certified forests are not mixed with products from uncertified forests at any point in the supply chain which assures the customers that the certified goods they buy are genuinely the products of a well-managed forest.
charities

The Grey Man, is an Australian charity and international organisation, established in 2004. The charity's mission is to eradicate the trafficking and exploitation of children, in the countries of South East Asia. Their main role is the rescue of children from traffickers however, early on they realised that rescuing children was not enough, they needed to stop them from entering the sex trade in the first place. Therefore, in tandem with their rescue work, they have begun a prevention program where they support educational infrastructure projects in the ethnic minority villages (a major source of trafficked children). They provide funds for education and family assistance and presently support three villages in Thailand with various projects.

SMILE Mooiplaas
Mooiplaas is a small village in one of the poorest areas in South Africa. SMILE Mooiplaas are a group of volunteers that donate their time and raise funds to help the children of Mooiplaas realise their dream of an education. Even the smallest support can make a massive difference. Installing ceiling fans to the school room will bring the temperature down from a staggering 46°C to a still unbelievable 37°C and the addition of new septic toilets will mean the children no longer need to stand in a long queue in the sun to use the only toilet currently available. By creating an environment in which the children can learn, we hope the community of Mooiplass will flourish with academics in the coming years.

Sea Shepherd Conservation Society (SSCS) is an international non-profit, marine wildlife conservation organisation. Their mission is to end the destruction of habitat and slaughter of wildlife in the world's oceans in order to conserve and protect ecosystems and species. We hear a lot about their whaling intervention but they are also continually fighting to stop the senseless slaughter of dolphins, fur seals and sharks and to protect the marine reserve of the Galapagos Islands.
